Your first project

A project is a single research effort — one proposal, one manuscript, one literature review. Each project has its own chapters, citations, conversations, and knowledge graph.

1. Start from a template

Click New project on your dashboard. Pick the template that matches your design:

  • Quantitative — numerical data, statistical analysis, variables and hypotheses.
  • Qualitative — themes, patterns, interpretation, coding frameworks.
  • Mixed methods — combined quantitative & qualitative.

Templates seed your project with the right agent pipeline, skill set, and default journal-tier expectations. You can change any of this later in project settings.

2. Talk to the agent

Open your project and start chatting. The agent auto-selects the right skill for the phase you're in — topic selection, background, objectives, scope, literature, framework, design, sampling, or manuscript drafting.

Pin a skill with the skill chip in the chat header if you want to override auto-routing. Pinned beats auto.

3. Watch the knowledge graph

Every conversation feeds your project's knowledge graph — entities, claims, contradictions surface as you work. Open the graph view to explore what the agent has extracted, or jump into any node to see the conversations that created it.

4. Export whenever you need

When you need to hand off, back up, or switch tools, use Sharing & exporting — chapters come out as Markdown, the full project as a ZIP.
