Sharing & exporting

Three ways to get data out of Agent-Q, from lightest to heaviest:

Share a single conversation (public link)

Click the Share button in any chat header. Pick an expiry (7 days, 30 days, or never), create the link, and copy. Anyone with the URL can read the thread — no sign-in required. Revoke anytime from the same popover.

Public viewers see a clear "shared with you" banner at the top and a read-only message list. Perfect for sending a research thread to your advisor.

Download a conversation (Markdown)

Next to the Share button, a small download icon grabs the entire thread as a .md file — one heading per message with timestamps. Great for a quick backup or for pasting into a shared doc.

Export the whole project (ZIP)

From Project settings → Export project, download a ZIP archive containing:

  • README.md — orientation with project metadata
  • project.json — the full state object
  • chapters/ — every document as Markdown with frontmatter
  • citations.json — reference list with BibTeX
  • conversations/ — one JSON per conversation, with every message
  • graph.json — entity + relationship snapshot

The export is workspace-membership gated (only members of the project's workspace can download) and complies with GDPR Article 20 data portability.

When to use which

  • Share link — live, revocable, for a specific thread. No file to lose track of.
  • Markdown export — point-in-time snapshot of one thread. Works offline.
  • Project ZIP — full backup / migration / archival. Use when wrapping up a project.
